Medan – Hundreds of residents of Kampung Kubur or Kampung Sejahtera welcomed enthusiastically receiving free medical treatment. This free medical treatment was facilitated by the Columbia Asia Medan Hospital in the Kampung Kubur area not far from the gate / portal on Jalan Taruma, Sunday (24/4/2016).
Hundreds of residents seemed enthusiastic to receive free medical treatment by registering and attending since morning. The event began with a morning exercise program with the Columbia Asia Hospital in Medan at 07.00 WIB. Furthermore, starting at 09.30 WIB the residents were facilitated with free medical treatment until it was finished.
“It’s good that there is free medical treatment, if possible, it is routinely held by Columbia Hospital. This morning, the program was exercising together. After that, it was free treatment. I also took an eye health check, my eyes have been blurred all this time,” said a middle-aged man after a medical check-up. .
Head of Environment I of Central Petisah Village, Emmy, who also accompanied its residents and several agency officials such as the Medan Police Chief, BNN, Kodim, Camat, Lurah at this free medical event.
Emmy, who was met at his residence, admitted that he was happy that his residents could receive this facility. Because so far, many residents have economic difficulties to seek treatment.
“If asked happy, happy, my residents can check their health for free and get free treatment. In the future, I hope that activities like this can be routinely given to Kampung Kubur,” said Emmy.
General Manager of Columbia Asia Hospital in Medan, Rheinhard L. Tobing, admitted that the welcome of Kampung Kubur residents was very enthusiastic. He also said that this free medical treatment program would be carried out routinely. However, he could not confirm that he would be routine in Kampung Kubur. Rheinhard parties will hold free medical treatment at several other locations.
“This activity is held in the framework of World Health Day and also in the framework of 20 years of Columbia Asia Group serving the Asian community. We have also submitted a proposal to the local government for social service in Kampung Kubur. So far there is no routine plan for free medical treatment in Kampung Kubur,” said Rheinhard.
Rheinhard hopes that the free medical treatment provided by his party can empower the people of Kampung Kubur to improve health and welfare.
“We want to empower the residents of Kampung Kubur to be healthy and prosperous residents, because those who have been stigmatized by the residents of the grave village are synonymous with drugs. So we chose this area,” said Rheinhard.
Some of the free medical facilities provided are checking for eye diseases (nearsightedness, cataracts), ENT disease, health of skin, teeth, children, and the elderly (elderly).
